Mission & Purpose

Steel City Quilt Company supports the quilting community through two guiding principles of value and equity.

We believe there is inherent value in quilting as a craft, an art, a passion, a platform, a business, and everything in between. We carry high quality quilting fabrics and notions and offer professional longarm quilting services that are available to makers in an inclusive and accessible environment. Makers have a safe place at Steel City Quilt Company.

We believe it is incumbent upon makers to use their collective voices for social justice.  As a business, we recognize the privilege that allows us to own Steel City Quilt Company, and understand the responsibility that carries.

In 2022, we committed to redistributing a portion of Steel City Quilt Co profit to organizations advancing the causes near to our heart.  We also donate the time, supplies, and shipping for longarm quilting of artistic and memorial quilts used to advance social justice and equity.

We are a small quilt shop, and we are proud to have donated over $4,000 since 2022.

We regularly update the list of organizations receiving donations from Steel City Quilt Company. We invite you learn about the work each organization is doing and to consider making a donation in an amount meaningful to you.
